Put the Cell Phone Down and Keep Your Eyes on the Road!

It seems like it's almost impossible for us to put our cell phones down these days, but there's a new law that went into effect at the start of the year that's aimed at reducing the number of distracted drivers on our roadways.

In the state of California, drivers are no longer allowed to use a handheld wireless phone or wireless electronic device, unless the device is mounted on the vehicle windshield or dashboard in a way that doesn’t hinder the driver’s view of the road. Drivers are only allowed to activate or deactivate a feature or function on the device with a single swipe or tap and cannot do that while holding the device.
